Project Apple seeks to create a research and development (R&D) centre of excellence for the global pharmaceutical company UCB, relocating its UK based Early Discovery facilities from Slough to Windlesham. Works include extensive refurbishment/remodelling of the existing campus buildings by providing new state of the art laboratory facilities to reinforce UCB’s UK life sciences drive in developing innovative treatments to transform the lives of people living with severe diseases of the immune and central nervous system.
The central hub building, using Cross Laminated Timber (CLT) and glulam, will unify the campus into a single building and support the execution of UCB’s research plan to develop innovative treatments for patients including gene therapies and translational medicine.
