This research report involved an investigation of the proposed minimum fabric standard changes to Section 6 (Energy) of the Scottish Building Standards which are to come into effect in 2022. Produced for the Scottish Building Standards division, the report assessed the impact that improving U-value performance could have on reducing space heating demand and operational carbon emissions against the potential increase in embodied carbon. This involved whole life carbon assessments under different scenarios and disseminating data to highlight trends.
